Our popular course, spread over two days, aims to provide you with a thorough understanding of Governance and Compliance including all the recent regulatory updates e.g. implications of the new NHF code and the Social Housing White Paper. The course is aimed at Governance Practitioners, Governance Officers, Company Secretaries, Compliance Officers and anyone else with a responsibility for governance. Each session will include peer discussions, practical applications and Q&As, as well as some reflection and preparation between sessions.

• Understand the approach taken by the Regulator for Social Housing, the expectations, information requirements and available guidance - 
• Understand the information, compliance and audit requirements of Homes England.  
• How to map statutory, regulatory and funder compliance requirements across your business, how to reduce compliance risk, enhance board oversight and improve assurance mechanisms 
• How to manage information flows – what does the board need to know 
• Describe best practice in non-executive recruitment and selection, the important agreement for services, having an up to date role profile and person specification, non-executive induction, continuing learning and development 

• ​​Explain the processes of individual board and committee member and whole board and committee appraisal, effectiveness review and skills mapping; what documents and processes to apply
• Describe how to deliver Board member renewal, removal, and succession planning
• Appreciate the importance of having a full suite of up to date governance toolkit documents that reflect statutory and regulatory requirements and meet the requirements of your organisation – including terms of reference and delegated authorities 
• Describe sector best practice drawing on relevant codes of governance and conduct​​
