Digital transformation across health and social care services is central to the government’s strategy to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of service provision. Registered social care services can play their part by signing up for NHS Mail which enables them to access a secure email system so that they can share information safely. Many services have had no option but to deliver staff induction and training online, for example, and have also had to support people to learn how to communicate digitally with the friends and family they can no longer see.
