Andrew is a highly experienced professional within the social housing environment, having held strategic and operational roles within both large and smaller providers since 2003, including a spell in Australia.
He is skilled in leading approach’s to Anti-Social Behaviour and Tenancy Fraud, Domestic Abuse, Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and Safeguarding and in March 2020, he led Orbit Group to become the first registered provider to achieve ‘Leaders in Safeguarding’ accreditation, followed just 12 months later by ‘Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA)’ accreditation. He is someone who prides himself on taking a pragmatic, honest and sensible view and is widely known for being able to quickly understand a brief, see the bigger picture and connections and deliver positive outcomes with pace. Prior to this, Andrew was a police officer for over 15 years in the Essex and Metropolitan services and during that time, he led on the creation and setting up of specialist Domestic Abuse and Hate Crime units, as well as being instrumental in driving forward an equality and diversity agenda. Outside of work; Andrew is a Magistrate in the adult criminal court and he also volunteers with the homeless. Key areas of expertise:
