Central contributes to Birmingham Home Care Enablement Service scooping two awards
October 2011
Birmingham Home Care Enablement Service (BHCES)has been awarded two prestigious awards in the last week.
On Saturday 15 October, the service was awarded ‘The Care Team Award’ at the Great West Midlands Awards Ceremony. This award, in competition with five other services, was awarded in recognition of their massive team effort in putting ‘Enablement’ into the Home Care Enablement Service – a transformation that has taken place in very challenging times. As regional award winners, BHCES will also be going forward to the national awards in December.
Their improved performance has also been recognised by the government’s Customer Service Excellence Standard (CSE). Formerly known as the Charter Mark, this standard has been awarded following rigorous tests of their effectiveness in relation to service delivery, information and professionalism and attitude.
These awards are testament to a team that is leading the way in showing how effective enablement can be in meeting the massive challenges of helping people to live their lives as they want to, whilst freeing up scarce care resources to meet the needs of others.
David Gray, Group Manager of the Enablement service said “clearly the training was part of the package that allowed this point to be reached, so well done”.
