Karl specialises in governance, business strategy, leadership principles and entrepreneurship. He is a high-profile multi-award winning businessman, motivational speaker and writer, and visiting professor at Birmingham City University. He was awarded an MBE in 2004 for his outstanding service to the social and business communities.
Karl is the founder and chief executive of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP) offering professional qualifications, CPD and networking opportunities across the private, public and third sectors. Karl is also Director of the Governance Forum, a groups of governance specialists working together to deliver exceptional standards in governance in the third sector. He developed the Governance Assessment Process (GAP), a cross sector standard that has been delivered to around 100 third sector organisations and endorsed by Sir Adrian Cadbury, Chairman of the UK committee which published the Cadbury Code. Karl is now one of the country’s leading speakers and business consultants in the field of governance, and delivers the successful ‘Get on Board’ development programme for young professionals interested in obtaining Board level experience. Among his many achievements, Karl was chosen as one of the 20 national role models by the Department for Communities and Local Government as part of the REACH campaign. |
