With 30 years of experience, Geoff specialises in elite performance and well-being. As a registered HCPC and British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist, Geoff's successful practice is informed by his wide-ranging practical experience, his strong research track record of over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, and his university senior leadership and management experiences.
Geoff has extensive expertise in designing, leading, and providing elite sport psychology and well-being services that support the successes of the Great Britain and Australian Paralympic and Olympic Teams. Geoff has assisted athletes and teams at every Olympic and Paralympic summer Games since 1996 and has attended the Commonwealth Games, Paralympic Games, and Olympic Games. Most recently, Geoff is the Psychologist for the Great Britain Olympic and Paralympic Rowing Team, having worked very closely with the Gold medal-winning Men's Eight, Women's Quad, and Women's Double at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Across his clients, at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Geoff closely supported the winning of over a dozen medals, including six Golds. Set within a person-centred and relational-focused paradigm, Geoff effectively translates and transfers his learnings from elite sport to leadership and development contexts. The challenges faced by industry leaders and teams in the corporate context closely mirror those of athletes strategizing and preparing for peak performance at major championships and staying ahead of their competitors. Obviously, sporting success does not always follow a perfectly planned or linear trajectory. Developing the skills and resilience to 'bounce' and 'pivot' vital for sports performance are equally important in the ever-changing corporate environment. Geoff's approach to supporting peak performance is firmly rooted in an inwardly focused perspective, emphasizing being one's best possible self, building on strengths, striving for authenticity, and adopting a model of continuous development in which we learn and grow in response to achievement and context feedback. Using this perspective to build resilience, awareness, and effective tools, Geoff helps at organizational macro levels, team meso levels, and individual micro levels; helping leaders, helping leaders lead, and helping Teams be their best and feel their best. |
